Some of the many strategies that you will learn include how to:
- feel comfortable and confident making difficult decisions
- stay calm in the midst of chaos
- feel less of a need to ask friends and family for reassurance
- find a way to relax if your brain is saying, “What if this, What if that?”
This workshop will consist of a series of talks and individual exercises. There will be opportunities to ask questions and individual exercises. You will never have to talk in front of the group or share personal information. You can watch the entire course from the comfort and privacy of your own home!! If you miss a class, you will also have the opportunity to watch the recordings for all the classes whenver you have time.
Remember, this is a workshop for worriers - and I want you to focus on learning the strategies and not worry about what's going to happen next.
We are going to have a calm and supportive environment so you can get all the important info you need without adding to your stress!

Day 1 - You are what you think: Steps to taking your mind back from negative thinking
Why Smart People Worry
- How did worrying get such a bad rap, anyway
- Beyond Flight or Fight: What you can do when your body hits the panic button
- Why people who are smart and creative are so good at worrying
Dissolving Negative Thinking
- Why we get stuck on the worst case scenario & what to do
- How to build yourself up instead of beating yourself up
- Using your smart, creative mind to your advantage
- How to stop believing everything you think
Day 2 - Quiet Mind, Calm Body: Living Peacefully in Difficult Times
Understanding your busy mind
- How to stay calm when your brain just won’t shut up
- Tried and true tricks for quieting your monkey mind
- Brain exercises and meditations that calm the mind and the body (even if you’ve never been able to meditate before)
Being open to what life brings you
- Dealing with difficult people skillfully and confidently
- How worriers can get through tough times
- Accepting and loving yourself (the most important part of the whole weekend)

Please note, that the fee for this workshop may be covered in part or fully by your extended health plan (e.g., Blue Cross, EFAP, health spending accounts, etc). Please check with your provider to learn whether they cover the services of a registered psychologist. You will receive a receipt at the time of the workshop for “Psychological Services” that you can use for reimbursement from your plan. Psychologists are also GST free!
Any fees not covered by your plan, or if you don’t have a plan, can be claimed on your income tax as a medical expense.
If you are bringing a friend (VIP plan), you must register them at the time you are ready to sign up. I'll contact you after you register to get all the details from you. This is simply save a seat for your friend and to prevent overbooking of the event if too many people decided to bring a friend at the last minute.
Please note, that if you are not happy with the workshop at the end of the first day and you return all of the course materials and goody bag, I will be happy to issue you an immediate refund for the entire event.
